La Bella Verona Ugolini: staying between art, history and authenticity
The fascination of the Roman world and grace of the Renaissance architecture: La Bella Verona, the welcoming project of Ugolini ‘s family in the town of the Scaligeri. Two structures that, if we were in imperial times, we would define at the beginning and at the end of the great Decumanus that cut the city in two.
Two Luxury Apartments located at the northern entrance of via Postumia, looking at Ponte Pietra and the Wine Suites, adjacent to the main roman door Borsàri, at the far end of the same street.
Two fascinating places where one can appreciate walls and roman stones from the imperial age.
A deep connection between Bella Verona and Valpolicella
“All rooms in our structure – says Elena Furia in Ugolini managing the structures – are called with names of our vineyards from which we obtain the great wines of Valpolicella, in the Valley of Fumane”. That’s how we arrive to Valle Alta Suite and the other ones like Monte Solane, San Michele and Valle Lena.
“As for the Luxury Apartments, we decided to use ancient roman names coming from the Adige river, Athesis and about the Roman Bridge, Pons Marmoreum“.
“In the Wine Suites‘ structure one may also fine a common room and a videowall where images of our Tenute Ugolini and Villa San Michele are displayed”. In fact, many guests didn’t know the winery before coming but, thanks to these structures, they were then able to understand, even through a simple tasting, the value of the project and of the city”.
The magic of the Opera and the relax after a Fair
During summer 98 % of the guests choosing our structures are foreigners and all very fascinated and passionate about the Opera Areniana. However, during the year, many clients choose La Bella Verona Ugolini in order to rest after a long working day, especially during the many fairs happening during the fall and spring.
“Our structures’ rating – continues Elena – is very high (with an average of 9.8 on the main booking websites like Booking.com and AirB&B, ndr). The most frequent reviews confirm that guests remain stunned by the beauty of the location, the care for the rooms, the tidiness, the panorama and strategical placement right in the heart of the historical center of the City of Verona”.
Our fil rouge: sustainable living
Ever since the Ugolini family began producing grapes and wine in Valpolicella, they operated with a very clear mindset: eliminating all chemical substances, both from the field and from the winery. Therefore, a rigorously biological choice, transferred also in the apartments‘ renovations and the rooms in Verona.
“All the materials chosen for the renovation of our rooms – says Elena – belong specifically to the construction history of ancient roman or medieval homes. The stones, bricks and materials used for the interiors are all original and do not include any use of plastics or derivatives. Stone, wood and glass are constant in all our locations. Moreover, even our bathroom products for personal care come from a small artisan lab from Valpolicella which only uses organic material with no additives”.
