All the wines of Ugolini are cru and come from distinct historical vineyards and each wine is a unique expression of a vineyard, the only item of a single plot.
The philosophy is to bring out the personality, the terroir, the identity of the place where the vineyard lives: a synthesis of the highest expression of the native varieties and of each single plot.

Once upon a time, the best of different vineyards were combined in each wine, always respecting the ripening times and characteristics of the varieties. And we wanted to remember and return to this ancient way, when the idea of cru had not yet arrived here.

The estate owes its name to the San Michele hill, located behind the Villa, on which stands a small parish church dating back to the 11th century, named in medieval archives as ‘Ecclesiam Sancti Michaelis’.
Precisely to St Michael, the warrior archangel, the prince of the celestial militia in perpetual battle against evil, is dedicated our Valpolicella Classico Superiore 2013 San Michele della Chiesa.
